As a membership benefit, IAPD and EPDA members may submit press releases free of charge. Nonmembers who advertise in an issue of the magazine are entitled to free publicity in the people and places section. (Nonmembers may also publish press releases for a $300 paid publicity fee.) Please e-mail news about your company to Janet Thill.

IAPD Editorial Guidelines

  • Submitted articles must conform to a professional standard as determined by the IAPD editorial staff. All articles are subject to publisher’s approval.
  • Articles cannot be accepted which are determined not to be factual in content.
  • Authors who submit articles give IAPD the right to publish their article in The IAPD Magazine as well as to be posted on IAPD’s online archive of published articles.
  • Article content must be informative or educational — not merely a commercialized article promoting a company or its products and services.
  • Articles cannot mention trade names or prices.
  • Limit is 500 to 1,500 word count.
  • Articles should be e-mailed in a Microsoft Word document to Janet Thill — e-mail: jthill@iapd.org.
  • If digital photos are being used in an article, they must be sent as separate photo files (such as a jpeg, tif, pdf or eps file), not embedded in a Microsoft Word document.

Additional guidelines for product focus articles:

  • IAPD’s editorial calendar includes scheduled articles focusing on particular plastic materials or marketplaces. Articles are accepted only from members of IAPD.
  • Submitted articles for product focuses can either be how-to articles or case stories.
  • How-to articles should include knowledge or technical information about the characteristics, advantages, marketplaces or processes of a particular plastic material.
  • Case stories should explain a certain project accomplished by your company (or in conjunction with a customer) utilizing a plastic material in any marketplace.
  • Article content must be informative or educational — not merely a commercialized article promoting a company or its products and services.
  • No trade names may be used throughout the article. Plastic materials mentioned in articles must be noted as generic plastic family names.
  • Authors are allowed four-color product photos or application photos to be published with the article. (Please note: trade names may be used in the caption.)
  • Articles will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.
